    =======================< br /> Design & />

    [Construction: surface of the N900 is a black matte finish with clean lines. The structure is made of aluminum, steel and rubber / plastic. The N900 fits easily into a pocket, smaller than the N810, but significantly thicker than most phones. The four components of the front are the status LED, a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and a VGA camera. It's a Consumer Infrared (universal remote), the pin strap option and strut. The removable rear panel contains the main camera, the SIM card, battery and microSD slot. Demands withdrawal of forces, but it is reassuring to know that it will not fall.

    [Keyboard]: The keyboard is side sliding doors with a flexible and feathers offers a solid feel. The three-row keyboard is backlit and localized with the major rubber surface. The keys are more difficult because the equipment used with rounded buttons, but still easier than the virtual keyboard. Although speeds of 35-40 WPM is realistic, prolonged use is quite tiring. It is possible for a USB or a Bluetooth keyboard, joystick, mouse, and even a Wii Remote.

    [] TV-OUT: There 480i TV-out resolution, which included a third used 5mm taken four cycles. They are down, left and right audio and composite video. Useful for movies, games or for work that requires a large screen.

    [SCREEN]: The color display 800×480 pixels 16 million is incredible. It is tender, 3:09 p.m. ET transflective aspect, which makes the screen easier to see in direct light. It uses a surprising response resistive touch screen allows you to use gloves with fingernails or a stylus. The ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the brightness. Lack of multi-touch gestures means heavy swirling in some software, but is generally not a big problem.

    [PHOTO]: The main camera is a 5MP Carl Zeiss, the same as the Nokia N97. It comes with a sliding cover to protect the lens back. There is also a forward-facing 640×480 webcam. The camera interface is the same as the S60. The picture quality is sharp, skin tones are alive and there is very little, if any, chromatic aberration on the edges. The camera can use the acceleration sensor when you shoot so that the photo viewer present “scene, but the N900 instead. Please see the portrait and landscape can and will be small size. Switch on and it is to fill the screen. Modes: Auto, Macro, Portrait, Landscape, Action and the car-Video. The camera can take 848 x 480 resolution at 25 frames per second video . The video quality is sharp, the image with an impressive 3000 KB / s, but the rate drops to 20fps in general and its audio has a visible metal. The device also works with Adobe Flash.
    ;
    [CPU]: The CPU is an ARM 3430 600 MHz TI OMAP processor clocked at 500 MHz can be overclocked, but. Some forums Maemo users were able to push the first 2GHz. This allows better performance at high resolution media, games / emulators and web browsing, and many others. Overclocking download requires a modified kernel with the desired speed. They are generally available measures such as 50Mhz 800MHz and 850MHz. Then just run fiasco-image-update to download. overclocking Although generally shorten battery life, most seeds also under clocks slowed, allowing the power the N900 much less when they use are not used, the net result is often a longer battery life. According to Nokia, Overclocking not void the warranty. Since the N900 has no active cooling is the heat that could significantly reduce the duration of the N900 by overclocking be created if pushed too. N900 units are unique, each overclock differently. So far, though overclocking very good series. Appears
    < br /> [] BATTERY: The battery is a 1320mAh Nokia BL-5J, 22% smaller than the BP-4L. A fully charged battery with non-optimized parameters can be 5-9 hours of continuous talk time, 5 hours of music or a few hours of 3G. “3G / 3 5G drains the battery faster than Wi-Fi Reduce the brightness, removal of desktop widgets, and disabling GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G easily triple the battery life. The process of loading the microUSB last about 4-5 hours for a dead battery. A problem with the USB port has been shutdown has been recognized by Nokia as a monitoring design, they advise to be careful when plugging and unplugging devices to mitigate this problem. The cycle “complete” Some people use the calibration method for the batteries of laptop multicellular, but the N900 provides that one battery so it is unnecessary to and slightly harmful to the cycles of full discharge, because there is nothing to calibrate.

    [Memory internal]: The N900 has two memory chips. The first is a 32GB EMMC: 768 MB of virtual memory (swap) 2GB and software settings (home ext3 /), is the last ~ 26GB ( My Documents) to your files only (not software) allows. The second chip is 256 MB of NAND memory (RAM) used for bootloader, kernel and rootfs, two times higher than the N810. Optional several giga- bytes for Ovi localized maps are offline, used in areas without a collection of useful data.

    ] [Memory: The N900 has a hot-swappable microSD slot in the wall. It supports microSDHC cards up to 32GB each class. Cable, N900 to a PC for easy transfer of files from the N900 to act as a hard disk, even if only "My Documents" is available.

    [GPS &; Maps] GPS is a real GPS and the addition of assisted GPS. The cold period with data sets is about 10-40 seconds with an accuracy as good as the Nokia N97. Maps preinstalled Ovi is a data connection is not necessary. GPS works usually offline, albeit slowly, but are due an error that the engine of the card can be used for a connection, even if the maptiles are loaded, do not ask. Ovi Maps uses the GPS display local weather information. Navigation and Mapping with Ovi Maps is free, but there is no voice turn-by-turn navigation. The first version of low 0 is due with the first version of Maemo Ovi Maps explain the lack of features it has compared to the third version of Symbian 0. Some omissions will save disability, roads, and the inability to see the address of a contact.

    [FM Transmitter]: High-FM transmitter is out of the audio-frequency radio, you can tune a radio to play as the frequency and N900 wireless media. It works as advertised, but it must be very low close to radio. ” , br />
    [RADIOS]: The signal strength of the 3G radio N900. It is possible to switch off the mobile, without becoming Wi-Fi/Bluetooth activated manually offline, then either. The N900 to another 3G phone as a modem via Bluetooth, but the configuration is complicated to use. Bluetooth DUN and PAN-modes are supported by the software community. Advanced wireless security, such that different types of EAP (EAP-PEAP, EAP-MSCHAPv2, etc.), different encryption algorithms (RSA, 3DES, SHA, etc.) and certificates of authority “(algorithms such as X. 509, SHA1RSA) are all supported. With Bluetooth DUN attachment is supported.

    [AUDIO]: The stereo speakers are loud, but lacks bass. They are a portable radio acceptable. Headset Bluetooth excellent job. The sound quality of the third 5mm Jack is strong and a little more “forward” than its “return” or put “polite” sound of the other smartphones, but the response peaks, valleys or waves that so often spoil the critical 1000 Hz Audio Sound Region “present” than similar devices. The supplied headphones are a signal a bit dirty. lose more whistle frequency, detail and brightness and volume dynamics are somewhat deep, the weight and depth of defect. The son of the earphones they feel lost in time.

    Software ========================< br / >
    Display Orientation []: Most software-N900 and the main interface only works in landscape mode. The only time it can be switched to portrait mode when making or receiving a call. Turn the phone opens in portrait mode, the keypad automatically after a certain period. As PR-1. 2, the vertical format for the default Web browser. Emails, contacts, files and beds and App PDF Reader now supports all modes portrait, but you must press Ctrl + Shift + R, each time to activate it. Guidance Third party software is at the discretion of the software developer.
    < , br /> [] Web Browser: The entire web experience is amazing, perhaps the best in a device this size. MicroB web browser and is fully supports Adobe Flash, video, applets that very quickly, complete Web experience. zooms and centers Tapping, who struck him. Make a circular motion slowly zooms. stir a finger to the left of the screen creates a pointer to the sites require this operation. The Flash version 9. 4th Flash was originally a 10th scheduled for 1st quarter 2010, but the head of operations Maemo, Mountain View has indicated that it is never on the N900, only for future devices Meego. Many flash games to play , but the keyboard is doubtful. Unfortunately, some Flash applets always run after the browser is closed and empty drums. The simplest solution is to reboot. MicroB based on Firefox, which uses Webkit Gecko browsers are also available for free. ” , br />
    [Copy and] paste: Copy and paste the text in all menus and text fields allowed.

    [Social Networks]: The N900 comes with tools to use Twitter and Facebook. social presence is a global service, once connected, the contact list is updated in real time, it is not necessary to start “contacts.” support IM for MSN, ICQ, AIM, Yahoo, IRC and more is also available via Pidgin. Video calls can be on Google Talk IP. E-Mail supports Mail for Exchange (including 2003) and IMAP/POP3. Nokia / Ovi Messaging offers push e-mail for a maximum of 10 accounts simultaneously, including webmail and keep separate accounts. Skype calls can be.

    3G] [Productivity: It includes Documents To Go, a suite of applications to open MS Office documents. There is a free version that opens only Office files and a version to create and edit Office files. Full versions of AbiWord and OpenOffice are free.

    [Media Player]: Work Media Player, but can demanding. Included 720p trailer shows some amazing speed and the N900 screen. No Codec Support is unclear, and testing “is supported primarily” the media can mess stuttering. The media player for music is good, but some might polishing, the lack of an equalizer was a surprising omission, for example. There are also free to the community, such as VLC Media Player available.

    [PHONE]: As a phone, the N900 significant gaps. By default there are only two parties adjustable, but new profiles can be created with a free tool called Tweakr. interface of rotation to start the phone takes some time. There is no way to filter or organize the list of calls and time to call is not recorded. There is no speed dial feature to send and it is not possible, a text message or access device settings of the phone screen. poor proximity sensor opens random screens, while in the pocket and there is no support ring contact. Conversely, the call quality and signal strength is excellent. MMS is not officially supported, but software RPM Community allows its functionality.

    ======================= Operating System =

    ========================< br />
    [interface]: The OS interface is polished and fluid. You can swing 360 degrees with four desktops filled with your choice of widgets, shortcuts, wallpaper, and easily zoom in and out of open applications. The interface is fast and often answer, but it may stutter. If a dialog, which blurs the application behind it like glass. All the context menus pop-ups are released from outside the menu.
    < , br /> [Multitasking]: Multitasking is phenomenal. You can use any application with no signs of slowing. Taskswitching is thumbnailed show what each program. The active program window decreases, so that all open programs are immediately visible. Then all the windows can be closed with the X in the corner can be specified in any order.

    [Technical]: The standard N900 Maemo 5 OS . Maemo was to begin in 2005, based on Debian by Nokia. The next versions will be merged to create with Intel Moblin OS Maemo Meego. Nokia N900 initially planned to help Meego, but has since declared that only a community of support output available for the N900. Maemo supports updates over the airwaves and all software is available free on deposits of customized software. Apt-get works fine. Maemo App With no approval process. The platform is open and free, promoting a strong community and network for maemo developers. The current amount of the Maemo software is quite limited compared to other platforms, but more and more, mainly because of App Store offers a commercial. Maemo 5 is upward compatible with Maemo January 4 software, but it is rather limited. In June 2010 there are approximately 330 applications Maemo available, although the evaluation of the total software Maemo is difficult because it is not a single channel.

    [Alternatives]: The N900 not nuclei, may require additional system resources signed Mer Nitdroid, Meego and Debian will be installed. pictures on a memory card or flash memory, such as multi-boats are launched on a desk.

    [Shell]: out of the box, there is a real shell Linux with root access. To install and mount sshfs shares from a server or even insert a kernel module. Characters are missing from the keyboard is accessible with Ctrl + Fn. Busybox vi and nano are delivered by default.

    [Development]: Maemo provides a POSIX environment lets you use a Unix system with the original software. Useful for * NIX developers, because it opens a variety ways. There are a number of different languages, and more to come. GUI development is done via standard Linux toolkits GTK and QT. Python is also available. The implementation of Python N900 can not be set down with GUI toolkits such as popular PyGTK and PyQt dumbed. is important because there are many developers who already know how to write applications N900, even if they do not know yet.

    Conclusion ========================< br />
    People say that the N900 is not a Nokia Internet Tablet over and it’s just a smart phone, but if you use it, you really feel that you are using a device which is more of a smartphone. If you understand the limitations, as mentioned above, may, with the pain becoming more involved as the software matures, and enjoy the benefits of the N900 offers, you will be really happy with the N900.

  2. TrekGeek says:

    I got my Nokia N900 a few days of the United States. For purposes of this review, I compare to my old phone, the HTC G1. My opinions are based solely on the experience of users in recent days with the N900, and since I never owned an iPhone, I do not want to compare this.

    Physical Layout:
    * The N900 is a very powerful phone, and rightly so. While some Heft to the N900 is built solid and good. The rim of black metal is a nice gesture, without color. The film is not supported, the spring is beautiful, but Click to open and close. I have not noticed any creaks or wobbling of the screen. Only a few have complained to open in the back too hard. Really I prefer the certainty that the battery when I see (God forbid) dropped! The N900 is comparable in size as the G1, but a little thicker, and not a problem for me.
    * I do not really understand all the excitement of resistive and capacitive screens. The N900 screen is gorgeous and is incredibly bright. It is a little “give” to the screen, but I still have problems with it. The screen is very responsive and supports kinetic scrolling. I had some difficulties, by clicking on the small link in the browser, but it’s because your finger is not exactly the most accurate device for pointing. This was easily solved by zooming (more on that later).
    * The keyboard is very good. It’s a different experience from the G1 (which you have the guy with the chin “in the right lane) in a natural way, he felt better. The keys have a rubber grip texture, they feel, and although keys are smooshed together (like a real keyboard) they have a good response. I miss the keyboard with five rows on the G1, and I do not see why not open the N900 is a little more. For those that have large hands, it could be a little uncomfortable. However, a plus for the N900 as my thumb is not to travel so far to type.
    * I like the fact that Placing the speakers on the sides of the phone, back on the G1 opposite. I think I speak for many speakers, so I’m not forced to bend during a call. The sound quality is good and the speakers are decent.

    Maemo 5 /
    * Software is the ultimate individualization OS. When it does open source, that they meant. The 4 workstations to make things much easier to navigate. For example, a page is common to my phone contacts, another utility applications, the third task is devoted to your favorite sites to frequent (to pages linked sites are on the desktop, previewing FYI), and so on.
    * How Maemo multitasking is great. The “Overview” page, where you make all your programs under way execution actively move between windows and programs very easily and effectively. Note that you can close a window of your choice, like the G1, where the limit of 6 app, you can not be more opened, they closed the other hand, it is very slow, especially during critical periods (ie SMS someone directions for the implementation of GPS).
    * SMS (called conversations Maemo) is quite similar to the G1, but it’s an extra step – or interviews in the text or by the same person in the same window are displayed. The ability to image the other person to contact in the area text (which is, if one is set up for that person) is a nice gesture. Personally, I do not like about me MMS, so no gripes there.
    * The email client is good enough, I have my Gmail account in a few simple steps, but it is far less accessible than the Gmail application on the G1. For example, I did not remove a path to an incoming e-mails during his first come in. I’m starting with the letter, go to the Inbox, back in the mail, delete it. < , br / surf *> is similar to the computer, and nothing less than brilliant. Full-Flash, I can access the full YouTube sites and among other things. I think the whirling “zoom” is nice gesture own and helps, click on the links smaller. I found the zoom to swirl with the index with the best results. Alternatively, you can double-click on the screen, or use the volume rocker . Go to previous pages, you can go not only to the last page, but scroll through the entire history of the window. Neat.
    * Application-wise, there is not much, but I’m sure many will know soon. You can also click on deposits for more than Maemo (google), but watch how many of them are still developing and are potentially dangerous to your phone. Notable applications include Hermes (connects your social sites like Facebook, to your contacts so you get the contact telephone numbers, birth dates, etc.) and Qik (live broadcast recording).

    Hardware < br /> * Hurry, hurry, hurry. Must be in that?
    * No Hang Ups, because I can not close applications on mine.
    * The camera is good, it’s a 5MP camera phone. It will never compare to a dedicated camera, but it is more efficient than the fast download plans on Facebook.
    * The FM transmitter is a great extension. Now I can share songs without looking at auxiliary line.
    * The battery life seems a little over one last day with a little text and the Internet. WiFi is all the time when I’m home. My G1 is about 70% by noon.

    Of course, no cell phone / is perfect. Here are some things that my attention was
    * The volume rocker is on the right side (portrait mode), it is virtually impossible for a zoom, where the screen used to. Go along for the lock, which is on the bottom (landscape orientation). Is much better on the side because it would be easier to block after a call, for example.
    * Copy and Paste is a little sporadic . While you everything you want, you can copy them to web pages, I could not copy a phone number of a contact to others in the telephone directory.
    * The stand is nice, but it swings too far and feels somewhat weak. I am afraid I will break one day.
    * Support small picture already, but I think it will be fixed soon. ” br />
    So there you have it. My impressions of the N900. There are a lot of exploration to do, but I can honestly say this is the best phone / mobile device that I n have ever owned. Despite some shortcomings, its an amazing piece of technology. Many things I will not probably a firmware or two to be fixed, that is not a problem. I hope this helps someone one that is on the fence about buying one, good luck!

  3. I pre-ordered my N900 currently have, I discovered about back in September. And I waited and waited patiently while each demo, preview and review I could find. With each day, I knew I was closer to the bliss mobile. And one day, my N900.

    Unfortunately, it has not really deliver.

    After (briefly) owned a N97, I was incredibly disappointed that Nokia has seen its serious elements of Symbian port tried Maemo platform. Once passed, the effects you (admittedly impressive) office are, feels awfully similar to the N900 does not stop the N97 in terms of use.

    “Mail address.” If you e-mail, you’ll see this message. With Mail for Exchange program provided and an IMAP account is painful, to say the least. If you come from another Symbian phone, you will discover that the email application is just as slow and limited that old phone, but use a (slightly) more than make the messages HTML. If you have something like an iPhone or a Blackberry, forget it. With a 3G iPhone and the BlackBerry Bold and messaging on the N900 is boring.

    The screen is beautiful, with respect to the resolution. It’s trash in terms of accuracy, if you do not come with the stylus. I do not have big fingers, but almost every time either misinterpreted or not registered. With the kinetic scrolling is inevitably open to what you do not intend to open, or do nothing. You find yourself asking: “Do I tap once or twice?”.

    Web Browsing? Brilliant. Seriously. The included web browser is as good as everyone says. Make the page is correct Flash works, excel zoom in and zoom out. If you just wanted a handheld Web browser and nothing else, I would recommend this ten times ten.

    “But it runs on Linux! Linux, Linux, Linux!”
    Sure. I consider myself fairly independent of the platform when it comes to cell phones, and frankly, it is the “open” nature of the thing Maemo a red herring. Yes, it’s still on the N900 applications, which are not blessed by Nokia relatively simple. Yes, you can compile OpenOffice to work on the N900. The real question is: “Would you?”. By offering a variety of ways, I can see how the N900 is a great tool if I have a Unix / Linux Admin, can work anywhere without a laptop or netbook, wanted to be. And there is some credibility with some geek’s sake, this is it, especially if you have such a portable platform. The N900 is for these things. And do not forget that the public largely so far with the Nokia N900 targeting.

    For more than a decade, the Nokia known for a strong performance on the signal and voice quality. With the N900, and again they are short. 3G call quality is decent. If you’re outside a 3G area (as is likely, are, if you use it with T -Mobile, and security when you’re on AT & T) has the N900 a very difficult time maintaining a decent GPRS / EDGE signal calls and losses are frequent. Although the functionality of the thing as an afterthought Nokia phone on this particular model – but it really is.

    Shows Regarding implementation, the N900 is not quite the brick ” “Some say you should be. It is certainly important, compared to other phones available, but not unreasonable to carry in a pocket. The multimedia functionality is above average, capable of almost any kind of music and film format, I could throw around. The camera, while decent, is not much better than what you find in most mid and high end phones in terms of image quality. ” br />
    Overall, the N900, a large set of compromises. For many “it …” There are workarounds, or workarounds may be, or workarounds. And it’s really the heart of my evaluation. The material in itself is not very special for a phone that costs as much. And the problem is solved, but you must ask yourself how much time and effort you are ready to implement this scheme to raise only up to alternatives equally favorable. At the same time, there are a lot of wishful thinking, if you’re not ready to roll up our sleeves and some development work. “Perhaps Nokia has a firmware update to address …” Or “Maybe someone will write a script or a program, that …” Their mantra, if you do not do the work yourself.

    *** Update *** January 2010
    I am now on my third N900 – the previous two were defective.

    I was completely new to writing this opinion into consideration, but many aspects remain valid.

    What is different: < , br />
    The new N900 is much more stable and does not crash nearly as often as I had described above. This does not mean that it does not crash, but with the new hardware and firmware, it no longer hangs when you see it in the wrong direction .

    The developer community is reasonably active on the Maemo platform, and it did not take very long for very specific applications to come. Do not install a candle to this you’re on a mobile phone Android or iPhone, but if you follow with CVS / SVN or simple directions, go for deposits is a snap because the finding is interesting software. I was particularly pleased to see open-source projects like Pidgin and Keepass worn so quickly.

    What is the same:

    E-mail is still pretty terrible, especially if you have a large inbox. Where are the number of messages will help make the application more flexible, but it is still far from what one would see in competing smart phones on all major platforms. It also stops updating inexplicably (and yes, fanboys, even if not for peak set), and “Last update time stamp” rarely correlate with reality. ” br />
    The operating system still needs refinement. Case in point: It is not easy to do a good job of telling you she is employed. Of course, nobody wants an hourglass (or spinning beach ball) to build their OS, but there are times when the operating system is bogged down if you are positive, the screen is not registered cocks.
    > All things being equal, I’m still holding to my original conclusion that the N900 is not for the public to search for the iPhone. But for someone who don ‘ was not afraid to roll up his sleeves, the N900 is a great tool for Unix experts and gadget freaks are hard-core.

    Can Oh… and a little advice: This car charger works perfectly with the N900 and is very cheap: Motorola P513 Micro USB Charger Adapter vehicle rapidly increasing rate

  4. Edward Brown says:

    I have 4 Nokia smartphones and includes a few others. From the beginning it is a phone that is fun to use, but I would wait a bit before buying this phone. Very few applications available, Moody is the touch screen, it is w / only one ring. In short, he was removed from the assembly line at the beginning, but it is scalable and distance learning has great potential.

    It is a complete list of features. Delivery will take some time. Just know that it is packaged and not more than the others. The stand-out: Mozilla, four active work stations, touch screen and QWERTY keyboard & Hardware pen and handwriting recognition, FM transmitter, 32 GB, quality construction. Unfortunately, there are not many applications for Maemo, Symbian, or from Apple. With just a phone with maemo, I’m not sure how come.

    The N900 is a * very * solid phone. For a unit of W / A sliding mechanism, it is like a bank vault built – no squeaks or rattles. Simple matte black, fit, bright screen. It is incredibly fun to use and the big screen is a winner.

    If you have never used a smartphone before, you’ll probably be dazzled by the multi-tasking and configurability. If you have never had a high-end mobile phone, you’ll fall in love w / Camera, video, Web and variety of features. There is much to love (to compare with another phone gsmarena.) Smartphone As an experienced user, I will detail my cons below.

    To be fair, the N-series models to have their own specialties. The N82 is the camera to edit and xenon. The N900 is everywhere on the web and it works exceptionally well. However, the browser to crash more often than any other smartphone I’ve used. Then again, it loads on each page as it would on a desktop computer, so that the browser has more to do. (Not quite ready for production). The web and social networks is above the line. Unlike Symbian phones, the N900 is very easy to configure.

    CALENDAR / ALARM: Unlike the previous N-Series units, alarms, calendar does not ring the phone off. is

    Photo / Video: The N900 has no photo editing software, a single crop and programs Flip. It is a shame for a camera that takes quality video such. 5MP & Zeiss lens. . . But no publisher? The N900 does not offer any video editor. It’s almost natural for the iPhones and BlackBerrys, but N-Series has always been video editing features. You can not cut / merge video and text overlay.

    Keyboard: The N900 is a keyboard large, it is difficult to enter quickly. Since there is no space between keys, special attention must be paid when entering text. Entering numbers / symbols sometimes requires typing holds a key, while the number actually I am able to enter text much faster on the N82, the spacious layout and N900 stuck keys. Although many mechanisms for text entry, text entry on the N900 is heavy. The virtual keyboard is actually better than the hardware keyboard, but requires more attention. I would not have guessed that the eye-T9 is faster than both QWERTY.

    Touch Screen: Touchscreens to the arrival and are not as sophisticated as the cursor is used, but they are blingy. The least unequal pressure, the tension or inconsistencies in your badge and you open an application. 90% of the time, you’ll use the pen and finger backfiring. You have this big, heavy phone, so that long lines on the screen, slides, a QWERTY keyboard or moving the lines w / a stylus. But it feels more like computers and makes it pleasant to use. The big screen is the largest value. . . The QWERTY keyboard, not so much.

    2 Camera: The camera is secondary does not work. Typically, this second lenses video calls in parts of Europe are used. In the States, they may be only for themselves quickly MMS pictures or videos used by itself. With the N900, it’s just a facade. Very disappointing, but I’m sure a fix is on its way. Also been taken to bring the assembly line faster.

    photos and Bluetooth: When transferring photos to your mobile phone via Bluetooth, there are no settings to automatic acceptance as allowed w / other N -Series. In addition, the N900 will be transferred via Bluetooth, stored in the document, sometimes the folder videos, often in the images folder. Videos can be displayed in a file photo. . . . Who knows?

    OPERATION: You can not save by many applications. When you close a program in a file or program from the menu, you have anywhere to begin a statement on the ground.
    This boring.
    The phone is loaded with a single striker, Nokia, if you add more. I expect a call from this class and price for a camera before work and ringtones already, call me crazy.

    The flash is good, but the jewel of the flash is not the W PAR / older, less expensive Xenon N82 is. Again, each phone, it has a purpose. E-Series for Business, N-Series for Multimedia – Some devices, some Internet. All right. . . but at this price?

    When a message arrives when you use the device, a small bubble appears w / the name of the person and the first words of the message. . . then disappears. Nice touch.

    Overall: This is N900-packed features, solid and very fun to do. It focuses on an Internet tablet. . . But to get this w / a high-end camera. To this end, it certainly offers. However, for the price, I expected the N900 to the photo / video editing software, the camera works before and Document Editor *. * If you include a feature-packed, high-end phone with better equipment and a touchscreen QWERTY see HTC. However, Nokia smartphones only (to my knowledge) that no monthly fees of $ 25 PDA to access the network (such as BlackBerry, Palm, Apple’s doing). Thus, the N900 coupled with flat T-Mobile for the use of the Internet, you can have unlimited internet for only $ 7 per month extra. Everything is a compromise.

    The IPhone: The iPhone 3G is not really in the same league as the telephone. Firstly, the iPhone is * not * a smart phone, which you can not multi-task. N-Series lets you play my music and browse / edit photos, calendars, etc. This is what the N900 has the iPhone 3G no: 5 megapixels for the iPhone 3 iPhone Dual Flash no flash FM radio, FM transmitter (so you can play music wirelessly in your car, even if they do not have Bluetooth), takes a memory card 16GB, plays DivX videos, PDF reader, Flash 9 April , hardware QWERTY Pen. . . Get the picture?

    If the Web is the most important thing for you. . . You really want a big screen. . . QWERTY you prefer. . . want a great camera / VCR. . . You have a variety of applications open and need lots of memory. . . and you do not w / $ 25 Apple / Blackbery / HTC / Palm fee is charged – the N900 for you. . . but I had a couple of months waiting for more applications and upgrades.

    Everyone I work with has an iPhone. The N900 is very good. What I do is that very simple things that you would for a cell phone these days, as expected, do not do it immediately. However, these functions are already developers have web sites so they are not even a problem when you read this review. The moment was somehow angry by phone:
    No custom ringtones and SMS tones for individual contacts
    – Update. (11-Mar-2010) Still no custom ringtones.
    – Update. (04-Jun-2010) Still no custom ringtones! WTF!
    Accuracy: You can use any MP3 as a ringtone general, but so far no one person to ringtones.
    * No alarm personal alarms for different – all alarms must use the same tone. repetition time / br> < * setting the clock is only 5min, 10min, 15min and. I want a snooze time 7min.
    That’s all I can think of.
    – Update. (11-Mar-2010) My biggest pet peeve is that no custom ringing option for all your contacts developed. It is more open to outside phone lines and made many applications. Why has no one developed this part? You have so that you control a PlayStation 3 controller via Bluetooth to a hook on the Super Nintendo emulator, connected to the phone to a TV. . . . but no custom ringtones for individual contacts? Is it perhaps because the owners N900 to video games more than friends? Hopefully not. Really, I hope not.
    —-< br /> The only reason why I love this phone instead of iPhone because of what the iPhone could not do. I did not change my habits to answer the phone. There are many phones that do not address what the user wants.

    What I like about it.
    * I do not need iTunes to do something! Simply connect via USB to your computer and transferred a folder of MP3, M4A, WMA, etc.. . Everything you’re on the phone and you’re done. It is sad when you’re a slave to iTunes. I do not need iTunes to rip, burn or download MP3 files before and I will not start now, or never.
    * Video playback! I do not have to re-encode my video files. It plays almost all formats here. And I do not have to change the videos to a lower resolution. So I did watch Dexter Season 3 on the phone, doing nothing more than a copy of my computer.
    – Update. (11-Mar-2010) is a codec pack is at the end Posted by Jan, that support additional support for video – audio AC-3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, Musepack, Flash Video, Real Media formats Matroska container and provides transport MPEG2. So can this there are many reports.
    * I do jailbreak it comes to all things. If there is a new application or a widget or another, I can download and install only.
    * From this position, we already have a NES, GBA and Game Boy Color emulator for the N900. UPDATE – It was also an emulator SNES and Sega. Awesome can.
    * I Bluetooth directly from the box to my wireless headset (Motorola S9HD to use). I could not can not with the iPhone.
    * USB mass storage mode, right out of the box.
    For this reason, the movies, I listen to my phone to any TV in the house across the network without having to copy files to my computer.
    * microSD card slot. So I now 32GB 48GB (16GB on board card) memory. It will be even more if a larger microSD card is available.
    * It has a video output (PAL and NTSC) cable, so I did not even need a computer to my phone to a TV.
    * FM transmitter to connect
    – Update. (11-Mar-2010) FM transmitter works well in vehicles. It sends the name of the artist and song info to the screen if your car radio is this type. But it really depends on how the radio is on your device they received, as it does not work so well with my boom box when I installed it directly on my boom box. But in my vehicle, he worked while he was in his hip holster, while I was driving. – *
    It synchronizes with Outlook. also the birthdays in the automotive calendar. – It synchronizes even profile photos that I chose on my mobile phone to Outlook for each contact.
    I * like interface. After about 20 minutes with the camera, I was really fast and simple.

    I continue with the updates to this post a few months.
