Well help has arrived. Here is how you do a factory wipe or hard reset. (Note: this procedure assumes you can’t get to the G1′s reset “button” located in the Android OS settings menu and you DO NOT know what the terms “jailbreak” or “root” mean. ) Update: This tutorial is for non-rooted phones. The hard reset (or wipe) will put your phone back to the way it was when you first opened the box. i have a rooted g1 and i fallow your steps and nothing happend is still the same

I dont have a sim card in mine and i did a hard reset, and now it wont go past the unlock screen, it just says no sim card….. is this normal.?

how to delete an application from my G1 phone
I did this method over and over again one time my phone actually started to go through the resetting format in where i got to the android where i had to use the touch screen in which my touch screen works fine so i got to where i had to input my info then my phone shut off and went back to the reset graphic and sits there i resetted over and over and cant get back to the part where u use the touch screen also when i insert my battery it take me to the graphic any solutions
how can i get back into my phone??? i forgot my unlock pattern….and my gmail account…now icant get into it at all…..i dont want to do a hard reset….i need all my contacts and stuff any other suggestions
please can u help me?/? i have a G1 and i entered my lock pattern incorrectly 5 times now its telling me in order to unlock it i need to sign in with my gmail account…i created that account when i first got the phone…i keep putting it in and its telling me that my username/password are incorrect..the same account i used to set up my phone is the same one i sign into everyday….i dont know what to do…i dont wanna do a hard reset cuz i need everything in my phone..

My HTC Hero freezes when I’m doing the system update for Android 2.1 and I currently have 1.5. It freezes when it’s 3 quarters almost done and then a triangle with an exclaimark inside of it pops up. Any suggestions?

please reply back because i have the g1 and i love the phone only problem is that, some of my apps freak out and makes my phone very slow. my question is that if i do a soft reset will it delete any of my files pictures contacts apps etc. or will it just erase corrupted files within the phone and help its performance? id love to know please reply back thanks

@crelaxap1 …The procedure to get to the command screen is the same, but the “boot screen” will look different.
Once there, pressing “Alt W” keys will wipe the phone, just as it does in this video.
